Plz Help!! Liberty Wont Start
Hey all, i have a Subaru Liberty/Legacy 92' 2.2L non-turbo which was in a previous topic about the headers.
The other day i parked my car at a shopping centre, everything was normal, when i came back, got in the car i tried to start the car and it wouldnt start, the engine is cranking but there is no fuel getting into the engine, and there is no pressure as we opened up the line into the engine before the fuel filter. The car got towed to the mechanics this morning and he says its the fuel pump and needs to be replaced, but this is a rather large and EXPENSIVE job, so does anyone have any suggestions to what else it could be?
ps. there is nothing wrong with the electrical as we checked all the fuses and the spark.

prob is the pump---if you ever worked on cars before you could probaly tackle this job. you can get to the pump behind the rear seat in the trunk there is a little door. check if the pump turns on, just put the key in the on pos and put your ear to the pump. you should be able to hear it turn on.if you dont hear nothing.check for power. if you get power.the pump is prob bad. but if you do hear it turn on it could be something as simple as a cloged fuel filter .depend on how trust worthy your auto tech is......
cheers,
Jim

Thanks for dat HomeSlice, my mechanic was about 2 tear off the exhaust and fuel tank to get to the pump, luckily i got there in time and let him know about the door in the boot, sure enough it was there, turns out there was nufn wrong wit the pump itself, one of the wires leading to it was burnt, was cheap 2 fix.
Thanks again
