How much power from 87octane?

How much power could I get with normal aspiration and 87octane? Could any one give me an idea? I've already put a short ram and a new exhaust, I'm looking at new headers as well.

Chaces are that your NA car recommended regular unleaded from the factory. Higher octane can increase power if the ECU is paying attention and advancing timing.

How much power from 87 octane

Yeah I guess that would help. I have the 2.2 in my legacy. I belive that stock it's around 130, 127hp.

What I really want to know is how far do y'all think I can get with just bolt ons and tweaking. I really don't want to go back to having a turbo.

You could, if properly done, get 150 or more crank horsepower if you did everything imaginable. This would include an exhaust, probably meant for something like the 2.5 RS Impreza from Borla, Stromung or Random cat, custom midpipe and muffler or perhaps an Impreza rear section. Intake should be MAF, with a sensor right by the air filter, so you'd be looking for something similar to the 98-99 MAF 2.5RS. Lightweight pulleys fit universally. Delta should be able to regrind your cams, which would help a bit after the previously mentioned mods. A lightweight flywheel and uprated clutch would help.

That's probably as far as you can go before needing to get the heads worked on, which can be as expensive as a simple turbo.
