Changing Spark Plugs
Changing Spark Plugs
Hey guys,
For those of you with the 2001 GTs, how difficult was it to change spark plugs? Being a boxer engine, I imagine we'll have to remove some stuff from the sides of the engine.
And the question is do you guys go with platinum tip plugs or just go with the ones recommended by Subaru for the Legacy GT. Well, basically the 2.5L engine.
Thanks.
Ivan

Check out scoobymods.com for help changing plugs. The general consensus seems to be that copper spark plugs, i.e. NGK V-Power, offer slightly better performance than platinums, but they don't last nearly as long. Also, I'm not too familiar with newer Legacies, but, you may need to move the windshield washer resevoir out of the way.

Did not fild it to difficult you just have to have the right tools. yes you have to remove the washer fluid on the right side to get at the plugs and on the left you can remove the air intake to maake it easier on yourself (this is for MY98). if you want to get ripped off (in my opinion)buy the suabru spark plugs (which cost about 20 bucks a piece I think) if you want cheap plugs that work great just get some bosch ones or NGK platinum ones. not the split fire though just the regular ones cost about 2 bucks each or so. i got the bosch ones and they have been working great for 15,000 miles and counting.
