Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Yes, copper is best, I recommend NGK personally, and yes you need to change them- every 30,000 miles is actually the recommended interval for coppers. You'll probably notice the difference in throttle response with the new ones. Oh, and don't forget to check the gap before you install them.

while we're one the subject of plugs, i was going to have a look at one of them last night just for the hell of it, because i am going to buy some new ones soon. And i couldn't get the thing out. They are so far in there that no socket wrench or whatever would work. Does anybody have suggestions on how to get these out, tools etc. Obviously i have changed them on other cars, but never on the suby.

I changed mine right away on my RS, the OEM plugs are Champion, I really don't like that brand much myself. I used the copper NGK and changed them every spring.
