Hey guys,

My '03 has been trouble free, but recently its been extremely loud on accleration, almost as I would expect to sound if it had an aftermarket exhaust on it. Usually when I start to dig in to the power, around 3,300-3,500 RPMs, there's a very deep and intrusive sound emitted from roughly below where I would believe the block meets the tranny (if that makes any sense), or better yet, by the cat/heat shield area.

This happened purely randomly - one moment, the car was silent as ever, and the next minute, it was emitting this "burly" acceleration note. I have not hit anything in the road to justly jar anything loose, but I'm open to suggestions...thanks.

 

Ya know, I did consider it - the developing its unique note. I hit 20,000 miles recently....
