Buying this '97 Legacy...

Well first of all, i'm new to i-club, so nice too meet all of you, and secondly, i am going to buy this legacy tomorrow, looked at it today, and it is in beautiful conditon, well from what i could see...

... I don't want to make her a so called "fast car", just a little quicker, any suggestions on chips, intake, exhaust? any other ideas? thanks in advance.

There are no real chips out, a ProECM is probably the only type of ecu-related update you'll find right now. Several companies are working on ECU flashing, but it's going slow.

Headers from Borla would be the cheapest, good sound, slight bump in power. A few companies make high flow cats, but they're pretty expensive ($350+). Intake gets a little iffy on older 2.5 Legacy models because it predates the Imprezas having the 2.5, which is the model everyone built parts for.

If it hasn't already had the headgaskets replaced, it'll need it in the very near future. The "Phase I" DOHC EJ25 was synonymous with blown head gaskets.

Looks nice, low miles too. Probably pretty uncommon for a black 5MT.

officially mine!

yeah, she is in beautiful condition, i looked and couldn't find any scratches or dents, i love my new baby.
