you guys have any suggestions? i live in bay area, and i work in fremont, and the cops are bored and like to pull cars over for stupid things such as tint. do you guys have any suggestions for what looks good but wont get me in trouble with the cops? 35% in back 50% on the fronts?

 

I would check the laws in your state to see what is acceptable. The law here is 30% light transmittance so 35% is just fine. A dark interior will make the tint look darker as well. I have 35% on a silver 04' and I get compliments all the time. At night it looks much darker but during the day the effect is more cosmetic.

 

yeah like i said i live in the bay area, which is in cali, and i believe from reading the forums, legal limit is 80% on the fronts? i might be wrong... buti want somthing that will look good, but not be so dark as to have the cops on me... please help guys, sample pics would be awesome!

 

I have 35/front 20/back...but i live in Louisiana. Still, even here, the law is 50/front and I believe whatever on the back.

 

I did 35% all the way around on my WRX. I like the even look much better then all dark in the back and none in the front.

 

wow who brought this topic back from the dead? thanks for the help though guys. i ended up getting 20 back 50 fronts. just to be safe. everyone says my 50 fronts look too dark from outside tho. but inside, i feel like its too light. but better safe than sorry is my motto. thanks again all!

 

i agree...i looked through a lot of old threads to see what people did (tint %) and if they have been cited. i finally went with 35% back and 50% front and i feel it looks too dark. i'm very conservative though...and i dread attracting unwanted attention from law enforcement. i do need to "deflect" some of the heat during the summer months though. given the choice to do it again, i would do 50% all around.

 

actually i like it nice and dark in the back, i would have got 5% but i was afraid i wouldnt be able to see at night. i like it dark in back because i tend to throw my stuff in the backseat a lot, so in the event that i throw something valuble back there, at least the thing is a "safegard" against theives. and the 50% in front helps i guess, because as long as the cops can see me smile at them when i drive by, they're less likely to pull me over. =p but safe is good. pulled over is bad.
