I'm looking to get an aluminum gc8 hood to replace my 34 pound monster on my 99 RS. Does anyone know whether you can order this part from a dealer? My experience (at least with Toyota) has been that if you ask for a jdm part they won't give it to you, but sometimes if you know the part number you can just order based on that and you'll get it.

Ideally, this little trick would work with Subaru too, but I don't know the part number..

 

Well, in case anyone cares, some subaru dealerships will let you order the part as long as you give them the part number. The number I got from allsubaru.com for the gc8 aluminum hood is 57220FA130.

Ah, perhaps i should have been clearer.. I found it, but haven't bought it yet. The dealership here in Calgary wants C$838 (about US$675) for it, which is reasonable but still kind of pricey.

allsubaru.com said they could get it for me for US$560, but then i'd have to import it into Canada which is a giant pain in the butt.
