Jdm Gc8 Vs. Usa Gc8?
Hi. I'm new here. I'm planning to buy a Impreza GC8 2Dr Coupe,and I need some info on GC8. Can anyone post a chart or something that compares JDM GC8 with USA GC8? I really don't know which USA GC8 model is equivalent to which JDM GC8 model. My friend told me that there's no STi or WRX version GC8 in the USA,and even the engine is different(SOHC?/No Turbo). Are these correct? Well,I really appreciate if someone can give me a chart that compares JDM model GC8 with USA model GC8. Thanks for all your help

but in a nutshell,
US GC8 came in various models with either 2.2 or 2.5 liter NA engines. RS had 2.5 and came in sedan and coupe bodies. while the 2.2 models came in coupe, sedan and wagon bodies.
Japanese gc8's were mostly 2.0 in both turbo and NA

2.2NA 130?hp or so --later year base model

US Impreza is the only Impreza in the world that had 2.5 liter engine, and the only model that had hood scoop in NA.

2.0turbo (WRX) 280hp in the later model
Exteriorwise, US 2.5RS is almost exactly like JDM GC8F (ver5).
US 2.5RS got JDM ver5 front face with JDM ver4 grill, ver4 headlight, and ver4 rear spoiler.
You can't really compare the engine because JDM has 115hp more than US models.
USDM 2.5RS coupe was introdeced in 1999 I think so look don't look for 1998.

the US 2.5rs introduced in 1998 as a coupe only. in 2000, it was available in coupe and sedan body (with lower rear spoiler)as well.
coupe body style is rare. outside of US, only special models came in that style (22B,p1, type-R).
the rear bumper of the US GC8 is version 2 for all models.
the engine for the US GC8 (NA) 2000+ until now have a MAP sensor whereas other US models including WRX have MAF sensors.
