id like to see what others have put in theirs, especially which speakers you put into the front doors, and subs. =)

Sony decks aren't that good, actually they're just cheap. RF amps aren't bad, I had one in my old Volvo and it performed real well. As for subs and speakers, there are better out there. A lot of what you're going to be able to do depends on your budget. If you're willing to tell us that, then we'll be able to help you further.
P.S: Crutchfield doesn't carry the best of stuff, so don't rely solely on that.

I'm sad to hear that about the sony deck...that's kind of a bummer.
As for my spending limit, I'm thinking I could spend $150 or so on 2 speakers. After i have more money ill buy the amp and sub together, not sure on how much to spend though. what do you have in your car?

for $150, some good front speakers would be Boston Acoustic, Memphis, JL Audio, or Eclipse. How much are you looking to spend on the sub and amp, well first, what are u looking to get out of your sub? Do you want a hard hitting, sub? Like for rap, or are u looking for a filler? To just give u more full sound.

The speakers he has are all good, u can copy off him, the sub is even decent, You can get a BUMPIN' JL sub and box for a deal ($600) the 10" W7 with a 500/1 amp. The amp, ported box, and sub are about a grand, so save up. 1 of those will out perform 95% of all 12" subs, Alllllllll day. Your best bet is to go listen to subs at a dealer and listen to various subs in ur price range.

Real Sound
I can recomend nothing less than component speakers for your front doors. I just put in a pair of Infinities and I can shake my rear view mirror with the mids off only the head unit signal. Thats not the best part though, I can actually hear my front speakers, bringin the tweeters outta that low door location really helps. If you want a good base for a system definately look into component speakers.
I've heard quite a few subs before but some of the most important things to keep in mind are the box and the amp. You can completely ruin a good sub's sound with a ****y box or a bad amp. Personally after a lot of research I bought an Audiopipe Sub, thing pounds, and its only a ten.
And yea Sony decks are cheap but unless you're playin classical music you'll be aight. Lets be serious here most people can't drop $300 dolars into a deck when we've got a whole system to build.

Did you install those components yourself? I was looking into components but am doing the installation myself with some of my car audio freak friends and I don't have stock tweeters...would I have to cut some holes?
Also, I read on a WRX faq site that you have to remove the seats to install the rear speakers, that isn't the same for my Legacy is it?

Yea I put them in myself. I cut the holes with a Dremel(sp) tool. Worked real well you might be able to pull it off with a razor blade, thats what I started doin then I remebered I had a Dremel so I used that.
I bet you have to take the back seats out to replace the rear speakers in your Legacy, I know I did. Its not that hard to do though, of the cars I've worked on Subbies come apart the easiest. Yet somehow they still look soo damn good! I actually replaced my stock 6 1/2s with 6x9's which wasn't that big of a chore so puttin in new 6 1/2's should be relatively easy.

A tube sub? Like a bazooka type sub? If that's true then I SEVERELY doubt that it sounds good. Infinity is a good name. I bet those componets do sound good. I had an infinity sub in my old car (Kappa Perfect 12.1) You can pick one up for cheap on E-bay ($100>). That will get u started while you save up for a JL Audio W7. The W7 will outperfom 2 12's all day long. As long as the W7 is in a ported box.
