On the Evolution Boards, Shiv dynoed 3 of them and they only layed down 180HP on the DD Dyno.

This is consistant with 255WHP. What a crock. Mitsubishi is claiming 27xHP out of those things...is it another 98 Mustang Cobra?

That thing must be tuned to the ragged edge to use 91 octane. I'm so glad Subaru opted for a more robust solution to the high- powered-turbo-four problem.

It is dead sexy though.

Both cars are amazing.

The EVO vs. WRX rivalry will never die though. It is happening all over the world and will happen here. That is good, since it will make us all push the limits even further.

I'm just curious why people bash Neon's so much. They've proven their worth at AutoX's and they're fairly lightweight. I know it's not an AWD vehicle, and most of us would NEVER drive one, but why so much hate? I for one am glad the manufacturers are stepping up and offering something other than the retarded SUV's that they've been pushing on us for so many years. And don't even get me started on the Lancer, a car I've been drooling over since Tommi was killing it with one.

eastbaysubaru, its a neon. i kinda have liked them off and on, but it is still a neon. a chrysler product. ick. i don't know how else to explain it....

i have been reading the dyno thread with much interest as well. the reaction was just as i suspected, but the #s weren't. what everyone seems to be missing is that the EVO has a head start on the wrx, and i am willing to bet shiv will be able to make the same sort of hp increases as he has with the wrx. although the STi is going to be a sick car, i think the differences in the end will be millimeters, not miles in terms of performance. The EVO also handles better. Quite a bit better. The STi folks better be pulling something outta there hats to make the STi handle as well as the EVO. i think that will prove to be harder than making a car with more hp.

whats my point? as much as i want to bash the EVO folks, the EVO is a pretty awesome machine. i am having a debate on what to get at the moment (although due to the new tax increase, its looking like an GF/C8 project car is more realistic). i agree with alex, i would love to have one sitting next to my sh**ty jeep grand cherooke w/ 125k miles!

man i want a new car.... bad...
