Investing in a security system

I have an 03 WRX. Is it smart to invest in a security system? I was thinking of getting a Clifford Matrix 3.5 It's $150 on the internet. And I live in the bay area... not the best place for cars to get not stolen... What do you think?

no matter what you have, if someone really wants to steal your car, they can. unless you install deadbolts on the doors and activate it with alarm...this is what i want to do but little hesitant to start drilling half inch holes on the door and pillars.

i use my alarm just to remote start my car and let it warm up before i take the on ramp 20 seconds away and as turbo timer.

Well I was going to go for a Clifford Matrix which has a pager alarm, so at least it will alert me when someone is trying to **** with my car.

the one post is right - if they really want it they will get it - an alarm (Clifford or Viper) it will stop the everyday joker - but pros will get it no mattr what - I have the Viper 791XV (same as the Matrix 3.5) - a little extra insurance doesn't hurt

i have python990 with paging remote.

dei just came out with a new line for python, new remotes and such...dont get it. i looked at it and its stupidly designed in my opinion. they tried to have the old clifford style where led and valet switch is as one...i dont mind that but they also incoperated antenna. so, antenna, led, and valet is one unit and its huge. there is no input/output to have it seperate. remote looks cool but thats it.
