the a/C does not work, im not sure whats wrong

 

Depends on whats wrong. It cam be the control head inside the cabin (the thing with the buttons and *****) or under the hood like compressor or what ever. I could be out of refrigerant

When you turn the AC on, does the compressor under the hood work?

You might take it to get a recharge and see what that does if the compressor is working. If it blows cold air for a day or two then stops, my bet would be the expansion vavle

So not to thread jack, but my defroster sucks because my ac doesn't work either. when I turn on the a/c the compressor starts n stops repeatedly and theres no cold air. I recharged the system but that did nothing. Does that sound like a bunk compressor or expansion valve?

 

Oh, and also what does a compressor replacement cost? Granted I get a used compressor from the rancho subaru junkyard for $125.
