I just got a set of DEFI BF's, the red ones to match the STI gauge cluster. I have a 02 WRX, but will be picking up an STI gauge cluster soon. Anyway, the BF's are cool because they are completely blacked out while turned off, then are lit up with LEDs. Gruppe-s has some good packages, that is where I got mine from.

I bought no gauges at all, and yet I have 14 different gauges.

Check out the ECUTek Data Monitor (www.mastrowrx.com sells them) before you throw money at incredibly overpriced Defi goods. The data monitor installs in 5 minutes, reads the actual data that your car is natively using to control its own performance from the car's own built-in sensors, looks stock and doesn't clutter up your interior with a bunch of Fast-N-Furious dials... and the best part is, it costs less than 3 Defi gauges, a D-link and a pod would cost you, but you get four times the data.

I am wondering if you can view more than 1 thing at a time. and how hard it would be to be driving and to control this unit to view readings

Not a real suggestion, but does anybody know how well the Game Boy SP works as a gauge?

Read the manual they have posted, that will tell you everything. You can view up to four data sources at a time, and configure seven(!) custom data screens. Switching between screens is no tougher than switching stations on the radio.

My only problem with the system is that it only records peak boost, coolant temp, RPM and speed -- I'd like to be able to take any parameter in the system and record the peak for it; knowing my peak EGTs might be interesting this summer...

I was really tempted by this, as I teach courses in game design and programming and am working with two teams on GBA games, but it just looks very, very expensive to have when you combine the price of the software and sensors. I ended up getting a S.E.C.C. (EcuTEK ECU data monitor) instead (see other post) as that seemed more reasonable. However, having a GBA SP as your boost gauge is definitely some nerd/geek "bling" that one of my co-workers is going to fall for eventually
