hey i knew when i had my honda civic back in the day there was a indicator light on the gauge cluster to let u know cruise control was being used, i know we have the button and the light there, but is there one in the cluster?

my '04 TS wagon has one. just to the upper left of the speedo

 

i have 02 wrx forget to say which car lol, i think there should be but i dunno

i dont know off hand, but last time i checked there wasnt. when ever i drove my car w/ cruise control there was just the light on the button. to double check take a look at the owners manual.
