Exclamation Check engine light/flashing cruise control

Well, I've been letting my brother from new york use my car. And he said the check engine light came on and the cruise control is just flashing. I took a look at it and i couldn't get the cruise control to turn on/off. The light is still flashing (cruise control) and the check engine light is on. Anyone got any ideas on what could be wrong so I can fix it?

Do you have a DP in your car? If you do, you will need to reset the ECU (pull the power) if you don't have engine managment to defeat the cat-inefficiency error.

You will get the

CEL (Check Engine Light) periodically running what you have (Down-Pipe)...we all do...I have the PDE downpipe as does GDogg...it has a modified 02 bung that helps you not get as many CEL's...but it still does...there are mechanical fixes that you can do to simulate this 02 bung...The fix basically pulls the 02 sensor farther away from the direct path of exhaust stream...

I also have the Cobb AP that I use to supposedly eliminate this condition. I still throw CEL's once in a while but because of the AP, it is easily reset...

Yes, it will work for now, but the cell will come back usually when you drive on freeway on 6th gear... You will need to get a cell fix either mechanical or electronic.

I have no idea what map(s) are on my xede. It came with the car. Is there is anyplace in town that can check if it does? And just another question, I read up on the xede chip and it seems like I have to send it in to have it flashed with a list of all my mods, or can that be done locally with a laptop providing it has the xede map2 program installed? Thanks in advance.

I think you should talk to JT-STi2 caz he's using XEDE also... I think he does his own tuning. Maybe he can help you out. I read on their website, you can only reflash like 1200 times.
