Question ATTN: Electrical Guru's

Hey guys,

I have an 02 WRX. It seems something is wrong somewhere in the conection to the Temp Gauge. My gauge needle goes straight to "H" when I turn it on.

The car can be completely cold in the morning and it goes straight to hot...even when I turn on the Battery and dont even start the car. Even when I start the engine...the needle doesnt slowly go up as the car gets warmer...the needle goes all the way up right away...so I dont think the car is over heated...just something electrical.

Now, when this started happening...the needle would go to the "normal" spot... right in between "H" and "C"...but after a while it started going up a little at a time...and now it goes straight to the top. (this has all been by turning on the battery, not the engine...get it?)

I have taken out the gauge cluster and checked the connections...which were connected correctly.

So, I am trying to figure out where the sensor is, that goes to that gauge. Or if there are any ideas, as to what it could be.

thanks in advance

-freddie
