Looking for a used Ej18 motor..

Mine is worn out. Any tips or suggestions on where to find one is greatly appreciated. (junkyards?)

I'll have a EJ25 available within the month if you are willing to upgrade?

There is one at ABC Auto Recycle, in Pearl City, but I took the rocker arms out of it, sorry . Same for the EJ22's there . You should definitely grab an EJ22, it should be safe to run on the EJ18 ECU. You can also run an EJ25D (96-98) on the EJ18 ECU but you'll need a piggyback (GReddy Emanage) to push or pull more fuel and timing.

I need a manual trans for anything other than a Ej18 to bolt up to the existing auto trans, correct?

This is actually going into a 94' FWD impreza. I would rather have an AWD one but it's not in my best interest to convert everything nor do I want to go to california to find a nice chassis to work on

With 120k on the odometer and an instance where the motor was run dry of oil for at least a minute or two, my little putt-putt ej18 needs a rebuild.. but it may just be easier altogether to search for a small upgrade.

I think I may have to do more research but it doesn't look like I have that may options with the stock automagic. hmm?

Hey Dan, you could always do a 18/22 or 18/25 hybrid or better yet go boosted like mr. joejoe. Oh since your doing a rebuild, maybe some delta cams and some 22(E)?? rockers
