take over payments does mean someone jumps in under your loan.....they would have to get financed and then whoever they finance with buys out the car from your lien holder.

On a serious note. You'll get more money if you part it out. In times where the car is heavily modified, it's tough to sell as a whole. For one, the fun part has already been done. People like to be the ones to buy and install stuff. Good luck whichever way you decide to go.

Skip the being lazy part, bite the bullet, and part it out. You owe 16,000 dollars on a car that's not worth more than 13,500 including parts. You can probably part out easier to replace items and sell the car as is and pay off what you owe. You'll thank us later.

Is this the AVO car that people were trying to get rid of last year?

I pay exactly how much you pay per month, but I drive a brand new 08 C350 fully loaded.
