I have been fascinated heavily with the rally cars. . . i am slightly baffled by their setup. like the wiring setup and they use a left side driver set up right? but someone please explain the exaust location-

As far is I know:
The wiring in the engine bay is for all the data logging equiptment as the computers that run the car. In fact I do believe almost everything on a present day rally car is computer controlled.
As for the Left side driver's setup, I think Prodrive has had their car's setup that way since the impreza was introduced as their new rally car, back on 93 or so..
The exhaust exit location is because the turbo is on that side of the car and it was the shortest distance to the back of the car from the turbo...I read that many years ago in a tech article on Colin McRae's car back in 99..im not sure if that is the reason nowadays...

All WRC manufacturer's cars use the LHD setup, even though they could use RHD. Most drivers around the world prefer to shift with their right hand (not that they do that anymore in the WRC anyway since almost every car is equipped with steering wheel mounted shift paddles).
