ok i have a couple ideas what the knock might be ......but im not sure for certian.
it had started a few days ago. I've got a 02' rex and it runs perfectly fine except for the knock when its idling. you can't hear it when your driving just when your stoped. I plan on jacking it up this weekend to see what i can see. Hit me back with any ideas.......... Thanks. -Mike-

 

please describe the sound a little more. compare it to something

 

by the sound of it it sounds like a lifter going bad. cant really describe it you'd have to hear it.

 

does it sound like you have a timing chain thats clicking? cause thats how mine sounds like at idle.

 

what's your mileage on your car right now?

you have about the same mileage as i do... are you sure that it's coming from the engine bay? when do you hear the noise? is it all the time or is it only when you're doing a certain thing with your car? please be more discriptive.


how do you know what a bad lifter sounds like or how did you conclude that?

 

ok i sat in my car for like 45 min. this morning after i got off of work trying to figure out what this may be and desrcibe it better. when i started the car and let it warm up nothing........ but after i drove it for a good 10 min it started at a stop light. It sounds like a vibrating knock or some thing that might be loose. But it is definatly coming from the engine bay more towards the right side. And as far as me knowing what a bad lifter sounds like I had a 89' camaro that had that problem so i drove it till it went but i dont plan on doing that again.

 

is your car modified in any way or is it stock? please list your modifications.
