Im looking at a 05 sti motor with 16k, no tranny, fuel rails, ecu, or turbo.

just wanted to know what the most I should pay from the mainland shipping included.

Isn't that the one that's hoping to get $5000 for his setup??? IMHO it seems as if that guy thinks that everyone in here is trying to bash on him. He's gonna have a really hard time selling his motor the way he's been lashing out at everyone trying to help him. Sorry...didn't mean to jack your thread.

Regarding the sale of a EJ257 engine from lower 48 to HI. you're going to want to look at a good quality vendor that stocks them regularly. alternatively you can go with a JDM Forester engine which is pretty much identical to the USDM STI engine just without the red intake manifold. Gruppe-s (http://www.gruppe-s.com/Subaru/UsedEngines.htm) brings them in and you can sign up for an account with shiptohawaii to make shipping cost a lot lower than getting them to direct ship to you. They are a freight forwarding company so keep in mind that you'll have to do ALL the leg work to make sure that the vendor you go with for your engine and shiptohawaii knows about it. I've got an account with them and have already made my money back.

If you do sign up for an account I think they have a referral program.

IMHO: go with a more complete engine OR just buy a new EJ257 short block and start the build. There is no difference between a WRX manifold (pre (2006) and an STI manifold except for the color.


****>>> I just noticed that you have a 04 FXT. what the hell are you looking for a STI engine for?! all you have to do is get the 04 STI ECU, VF39 Turbo and Fuel pump and you'll have an STI. Ask 04sleeper (aka 91sleeper) his FXT is putting out more HP than a stock STI to the wheels.

Don't waste your money with that unless you have a reason for it. 04 FXT was the best year since everything from the STI will bolt right now.

Once you get the things mentioned above you can run an 04 STI Accessport...ETC.
