frick typo man.......and ya, it is in ota, gunma. planning on going to kusatsu which is also in gunma, was trying to figure out the best route there

its really really strange....i admit, im totally lost in areas around here and ive lived here all my life. but when im in japan, been there 3 times in the last year, its like i have this japanese gps...no joke. i can nagivate and manuver like no other!

and like you, ive wanted to go there the last 2 times i went, but never happened. maybe next time since ive been planning on going to kusatsu onsen

Here is the link to Visitor center info. Only in Japanese.
SUBARU :

You need to fill in request form 20 day advance before your planning day.
They close weekend and holidays. This is a 2 hour tour and you need to submit by Fax.

thanks obsi2008. have you ever gone there? heres my dilema. was planning on going to kusatsu onsen from shinjuku. was gonna take the jr bus (over 4 hours):
HIGHWAY BUS TIMETABLE | JR BUS KANTO

directions i have to the subaru gunma plant are from the ota station in gunma, but if i go on the bus, it does not stop off at ota station. it does stop off at several other stations in gunma, and im wondering, which one would be the best to get off at?

ive also found alternative ways to kusatsu on bullet train or on limited express trains from ueno, but that goes directly to Naganohara Kusatsu-guchi station, which is definately passed ota.

Never been there, but went to Tachikawa Subaru a few years back. I think I made a thread about it too. Awesomeness to the 10th power!!!! Jdm goodness every where around you!

was debating the tachikawa or mitaka subarus.......i know, tachikawa is awesome, but mitaka has the sti museum and is the largest dealership in tokyo! possibly do both if i have time

same here, thats why i have no idea which would be the best route to go. cool, thanks. would be helpful to know which station, on the way back from kusatsu onsen is the closest to oita. thanks!
