If you're wondering there's a tie at the top and they did D.C.

I have driven or lived in Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, California, Kentucky, Ohio and Pennsylvania. This list is pretty accurate in my experiences.

HI - Horrible drivers and too many people driving with Aloha rather than their brains.
CA - Just crazy *** people on their cell phones, speeding, weaving, etc.
PA, KY and OH - Same as Cali but just less volume of cars.
WA - pretty decent drivers...I think because everyone has to drive more carefully because of the rain.
OR - I'd say better than WA because people in OR know how to merge on the highway better but that may also be because of less cars on the road and the staggered lights at the on-ramps (they have two lanes on each ramp and red/green lights that alternate each side to go on the highway).

haha I agree with hawaii being that far down the list. I've been in cali, texas and south dakota and think texas should be higher. everybody drives relatively aggressively but everybody is driving the same so its easy to flow and predict. cali sucks, and theres just too many driving styles and too many people here. south dakota everybody drives SLOW and stupidly, they would go crazy and possibly kill themselves and others driving in a big city.

In my experience that list is fairly correct, although I'm not sure what their criteria is, because if it includes rules of the road such as not crusing in the left lane, making left/right turns into your correct lane, or using turn signals, I would assume Hawaii would be higher. Just my personal experience.

Aside from that though it really isn't suprising, I used to live in Utah and I must say that I didn't enjoy driving around Salt Lake City. You just didn't know WTF was going to happen... ever. I once went a whole week without seeing one turn signal, this is commuting to school every day... not one turn signal. I don't know about other people, but for me those little things that people do are very important. I like to know exactly what everyone around me in their 3000lb boxes of metal are doing, not knowing makes me a little uneasy.

California is like the twilight zone though, there is no rhyme or reason to driving there, its just get from point A to point B as fast as possible and preferably without any casualties, lol.

The farther you go down the list, the less knowledge of the rules of the road.

In that list, Hawaii is the 3rd *worst*.

Damn, it's good to know there are people out there better at driving than the ones in CA. I think what throws off CA's stats is all of the tourists here, stopping in the middle of the road trying to figure out if they want to turn or not. "Hmm, the arrow says Cannery Row is that way.... Should I turn?" or "Oh, wait, I want the lane to the right of me. Rather than merge over like I do at home, I'll stop in the middle lane and wait until it is clear, that seem seems like a good idea."

Oh, and luxury vehicles like Mercedes, BMW, and Lexus are stripped of their turn signals when entering the state.

I can tell you this: when it rains, our drivers drive stupidly slow. I almost ran into a car going barely 30mph in the rain on the highway. And our fast lane is actually our slow lane, right lane being the opposite. In fact, no such thing as a fast lane here in Hawaii, lol.

This guy in a Hummer H2 cut me off on the overpass near Caesars Palace in vegas the other day to make a U turn. He was in right most lane, I was in the center and he just signaled once and made the U turn in front of me. Vegas has some bad drivers....and 80% of them are the taxi drivers.
