Reviews mean a grain of salt in my books. Its what someone thinks of a game, not what I think. If I'm having fun with it, then by all means I like it. Most places gave Tribes 2 when it first came out a bad review but I loved it and played it alot. Don't forget the fact that MMORPG's take about at least 3 months to develop after release. I'm sure that review knew how big its gonna get with the expansion and patches

I agree about reviews, but the guy cant totally be lying I wouldnt think. I mean Im sure the game was rushed and is full of holes and needs a lot of improvement. I guess its the $15 a month that kills me. Charge me $8 or so and I might do it, but for everything the game is lacking $15 is way too much. And not having more than one character on a server makes it a definite no go for me. Part of EQ was having the different chars and being able to test different aspects of the characters. I would never buy this game now, they only want more money and its already too much. Too bad. Talked to about 10 people I used to play EQ with and they gave up on the game as well.

I was ADDICTED to Asheron's Call for a year. You see the kind of post whoring I'm capable of? I focused ALL of that internet angst towards a slew of characters over the span of a year. Hell, I'd call in sick every once in a while to Lexus to finish up a grand adventure.

Those games are EVIL. EVIL because they're so fun, and so addictive. I can never fall prey to their Harpy's clutch again!

Not sure if you played EQ ever Richard or knew about it, but I played 6 characters to level 60 and would play 30+ hours at a time. I called in sick atleast once a week and would get home from work after leaving early and turn on the pc, not change out of my work clothes and find myself still sitting at the computer every single day til about 4am, still in my work clothes. Fortunately I went to a doctor and faked headaches and other symptoms so he gave me a note for my workplace saying I was having health issues. This went on for over 1.5 years. I have a completely addictive personality and like you CANNOT get sucked in again. Thats why FPS and RTS are so nice, you can play for 15 minutes or a couple hours, whatever you feel like and you are never "left behind" your friends since you dont play 24/7.

I find that 15 dollars is fair for a game that uses such huge amounts of bandwidth and server upkeep. I used to say I would never pay 10 bucks a month to subscribe on an online game. Boy I was wrong. I was ignorant to not understand that the cost of server upkeep and also the fact the cost of the game is the only profit the DEVELOPMENT studio(not members) will get. EQ needed about 150,000 people to subscribe to be in the black. And about one character only is such a lie. I have 3 characters roaming about to test different classes. The guy prob doesn't know what the hell he's doing. There were such wrong points about the game he made too.

The lure of the Darkside is strong...

My roommate has been playing SWG for the entire weekend, I wake up and he's playing. I come home at about 2 in the morning, he's still playing. I have seen this before when he played EQ, and various other games. After seeing that, that's the main reason why I don't play. Evil.....

Exactly. Addictive personality + MMORPG's = NO LIFE. I speak from experience. Going out and getting the mad 00f on is much more satisfying.

Very addictive.. game. I was watching my roommate run around and kill creatures, and I was thinking maybe I should pick SWG.

I resisted the urge to run out and buy it. I passed the test.

Hmmm maybe I'll stop by CompUSA on my way home.... No.. nope. Bad idea.

But it is hard not to hear about the game when I am at my other job, since my co-workers are playing.
