I'd buy from the mainland, get all the parts put on, then ship it back. Shipping for parts will kill you, shipping the entire car on Horizon, Matson, or Pasha is like $1k to 1.5k...
1k is reasonable. Anyone know what inspection they go through? I am planning on buying this....

Any car tuned by/worked on by Jorge @ P&L is a car that's been modded right. That dude is "the *****".
One thing I would ask the seller is what octane that car is tuned for. Neither E85 nor anything OVER 92 octane is available in HI (well other than that one 76 or Shell that sold the 95(?) octane but it was super expensive). Knowing that 93 octane is readily available in the midwest (my car was tuned for 91 even though I can still get 92 here).
Its because a lot of people:
1. Have a fear of buying modded cars. Not me, my last three cars were modded before I got them and all worked just fine for my entire ownership.
2. Won't/Can't pay anything over what the blue book on a car would be...so people won't pay for a car's extra mods even though some of those mods were worth thousands of dollars. A lot of guys in are particular scene just can't afford to pay straight cash and banks will usually keep them at that earlier point I just made.
Its unfortunate because both cars are VERY NICE...far nicer than my current car.

I too was skeptical about buying a modded car. But to completely honest,I don't think the mods done on it is too out of wack! Yes it has a tial 44mm ewg and fmic but the shop that installed it is known to be one of the best in the midwest so I felt confident. The ride is running like a champ and I couldn't be happier.
The tune is for 91 octane?
LOL it has been a while since I've been on here but yes I picked it up!!! Tuned at 91 octane by COBB. A buddy of mine is certified by COBB and uses the COBB system (very similar to open source) and got it running very well! My car is currently waiting at the dock at long beach and expected to arrive at Honolulu on Oct 4th! I can't wait to meet you guys and check out your rides. I will miss the long straights and endless amounts of road here in NE but you can't beat Hawaii! That's for damn sure!!!
