RS-Turbo?
My current situation is that i'm still in high school and i've been thinking about getting a WRX. But if i get a WRX, i would have to wait like 1-2 more years before i buy it, cuz i'll have a decent paying job to cover the monthly payments then. Now, the problem is that, i'm thinking of getting a 2.5 RS now cuz i make enough for monthly payments with my current job. What i was thinking is that i should get the RS now and learn more about turbos and FI, then add a turbo kit to my car. Do you think that this seems logical or should i just wait 1-2 years then get the WRX?

Just looking at the facts as you've explained them...
If you can afford the pmts for an RS (an excellent car that's already EFI) and can afford the money for a turbo kit, I think you'd be surprised what a little budgeting would do for you.
For instance, when I was 18, I wouldn't be caught dead living with my folks anymore nor taking money from them. Now (15 yrs later), I'd live with my folks for as long as they'd let me. Whatever they charge you for rent, if anything, would more than likely be little. Who cares what anyone thinks? That's money you'd be saving towards your car.
Eat rice and beans, save money only for your girl and your car.
Look at a 72 month loan. Yeah, you end up paying more in the long run, but if memory serves me, it's easier to secure a longer loan because the bank makes more money from you. You can also refinance in a few years when you have a better job.
Lastly, it sounds like you're like me; a huge novice with working on engines. I'm dead set against paying anyone to do work on my car ($60-$80 an hour/labor) so that would leave installing the turbo yourself. Now you're looking at quality of work. I don't know if I'd trust myself to install a turbo on an NA car. Ask anyone here, I'd mess it up. You'd need new engine management, most likely larger injectors, and a new fuel pump. ImprezaRS, Sub-sonic, or Dylan (who works at SpeedGear) would be great dudes to talk to about that endeavor.

i was in sort of in the same boat as you. i just got out of college with no job and needed a ride. ended up getting the RS b/c of the funding issue. now i really want a wrx but i still need to pay off other things. but i still love my RS and don't think i made a bad choice. as for adding a turbo to the RS i heard it is time consuming for tuning and if you are planning on paying someone to install and tune it for you i'd just save up for the wrx. it will cost you more in parts and tuning than if you bought the wrx. i say if you have a ride already or don't need it yet save up for the wrx.

also don't expect your car to be a daily driver after adding the turbo it if you don't know how to tune it yourself. will be a lot down time trying to get things right.
