i just got my wrx 2 weeks ago and im having problems shifting into reverse once in a while. Is it because i have to break my car in still? It wouldnt engage all the way so i have to let out the clutch then it goes in.Thanks for the replys.

 

your reverse gear is not sychronized, hence the reason for your troubles. well that is what has happend in my subaru but dont really have that problem in my current car. i just used to throw it into any forward moving gear first, then used that synchro to engage the reverse gear..worked like a charm after

reverse has no sychor. try shift into first then reverse. works for me most of the time.

lots of cars are like that. like everyone said no synchro so just go into first then back to reverse. or like what you do release the clutch then try it again.

if that doesn't solve your problem then yeah maybe a dealer should look at it.

 

the first gear then reverse and the release clutch works fine i just thought a brand new car should do that. On my supra i had to do that all the time.peace
