[QUOTE=bpang1]THANKS BRENT!
Those guys are pretty cool down there...Bring cash...it makes things simpler when you have to pay...
By the way, they will install the sticker right then and there...so guess what...mine is on the bumper...instead of a bracket...I should have gotten a bracket of some sort first...

Orville,
You shouldn't have any problems...
I had the same setup as you almost...read above to what I recommended for Blake...
1. Just for the hell of it, I would put your silencer in...you will still get to put your exhaust on paper, it just won't be so loud at inspection as you roll in...remember, professional attitude...don't be attracting attention upon your drive in...
2. SS coilovers...shouldn't be a problem...just set it on it's softest setting and drive it around quite a bit prior to going in for the recon...it will pass the bounce test.
3. 11" won't pass, you need 12" from ground to bottom of the plate...just go to City Mill, buy 2 brackets in the door hinge area...they are about 2" long by 1/2" wide with two screw holes on each end...buy two bolts, 2 nuts, and 4 washers...Install one end of the bracket into the current license plate hole, and the license plate to the higher part of the bracket...mine is still on my car...works fine...only cost $3.00 or less...

Hey Myron, Soft...
They push the front bumper downward...to see if they can get 1"-3" of vertical movement...
They just kind of leaned on mine...and ok'd it.
Ryan (Vakamon) had a good comback for a possible failure...he said that if they said it was too stiff and that the coilover did not deflect enough...ask them if they weighed 3000lbs...because when you drive the car...the coilover does deflect...with the weight of the car...how is someone who weighs 150-200lbs. suppose to deflect a shock that much...if they did, it would be way soft...

Ok....I'm freaking out now......I work in Waikiki full time.....And I got alot of tickets(the loud exhaust ticket, the intersection and the recon tickets)recently i've seen post of other i-club members in the last month getting tickets in the Waikiki area......I got word from a friend(whos a cop)that recently, a whole class of rookie police officers just graduated and there working in the waikiki area tagging everything that can be tagged...so look out guys.......blake,I been through recon twice.......Here are some things you need to do to your car for recon........Since you drive a 2002-2003 WRX your stock fog lights are NOT going to pass recon......My OEM fog lights did not pass when I first went.....The inspectors at the recon station never told me the reason why my fog lights will not pass(If I'm wrong someone please correct me)........I have a set of fog light covers that you can "pop" on....Its the same color as your car.....I modifiy it so that it looks like it screwed on but its not......your safty sticker needs to be on your bumper lower right passenger side or it CAN be on a bracket...as long as it SCREWED into the bumber.......I have heard that the stock STI wing will not pass(I could be wrong ,since I heard that fact when the STI first came out...maybe recon now allows it) The i-club sticker you have in the front WILL pass recon...it's in the black area of the front windshield......As for your wheels and your drop....you need an alignment within the last month of your recon app. when you go to the alignment shop you need tell them it's for recon......if not, they will not print out the info needed for recon........your exaust WILL pass..... the car will be off the whole time during the inspection.....When I went to court for my exaust ticket...the judge said that it's up to the judgement of the officer to determine wether it's loud or not...... recon should take care of it......it did for me...hope this helps......let me know if you want to barrow my fog light covers....peace --dave--

I also work in waikiki, and got a recon ticket. i went to court and fought it. basically it was about my exhaust not being stock, and not about the loudness of it.
I went to recon for a sticker, and they just wanted to know what i have modded.i almost pass, but my suspension is what failed me. i still need to figure out how to make my suspension bounce at least an inch or two, because i have cusco zero2r coilovers and its as stiff as a rock. i even tried to put it at lowest setting, but still no bounce play.
but anyway regarding the ticket, i told the judge that the recon station didnt require me to get a recon on my exhaust, and stated that i dont need one for that exhaust matter. he dismmised it.
hope that helps when u go to court.

OK new question:
Do I need an affidavit for my mods?
Things that I will be putting on my recon form:
1. Rims (17x7.5)
2. Exhaust (Prodrive Axle-back)
3. Drop (Getting aligned on Friday and there's enough play to pass)
4. STi Wing (Gonna say it's OEM and all but tell the guy I still want it listed just in case)
Do I need an affidavit for #s 1-3 and WHERE do I get it from?
