Exclamation Question about electrical?

Hay guy and girls!
I have a major problem with my cars electrical and I'm wondering what it could be. I replaced the alternator and the battery and it still won't charge! This is the second alternator and I only getting 12.3 volts when driving above 2000 rpm.
I have no clue what else could be causing my battery to drain cause the alternator isn't charging it at all.
Anyone good with electrical knowledge please help.
Thanks.

Stupid question but did you have them bench test the alt. before you left? Also how old is your battery? I had a simular issue with my SS and found out the alt. was charging but it was just not enough because the battery was crap.

Have you tested the voltage (+) at the stud on the alt and (-) to engine engine and body grounds?

If you are not getting around 14v at the alt...it is bad. If you are, and not getting 14v at battery, check your cables/grounds.

and make sure the battery lite on the dash comes on....without it ...the alternator wont know when to start charging...

this is esp. for the older systems ...newer systems/cars/manuf. has the pcm controlling the field
