Autometer Electrical Boost Gauge HELP!

Where should i tap power for an Autometer Electrical Boost gauge (cobalt series, if that matters) ? Because of the auto-calibration I need a 12v source that stays on during ignition start-up .

I had previously tapped power from the cigarette lighter, but i'm not sure if that retains power during start-up. I tried tapping two different vac lines, the one preceeding the BOV and the one from the intake manifold and both times it did not show vacuum during idle (it was at 10psi!?) and when i drove it, would read 20psi + .

Now my gauge will not reset back to zero . How can i get it to reset back to zero!?

Where should I tap power from!? (Because of the auto-calibration I need a 12v source that stays on during ignition start-up, so tapping the clock doesn't work)

tap from the ignition itself under the dash...that has to stay on at all times because thats what starts the car...but if u dont want to draw too much power from that wire, then run the main ignition wire to a relay, and on the other end of the relay have a direct power connection for the battery, and everytime u turn the ignition on it will activate that relay and u will have constant power...and it won't draw a lot of power at all because all its doing is turning on a relay...I dont know if you understood it all, but if u have any questions just PM me and I will try to help you out, otherwise send me a message on AIM: E36BMW325is.
