Need help to pass recon

Hi everyone, i hope you guys can help me, I just got back from the Recon station today and the inspector didnot pass me. I need to get a amber reflector for my front headlight housing, and my suspention was to stiff. I whent to servco subaru, looking for the amber reflectors, and they only sell the light housing by its self(and they are $200+ for only one). I am looking for anyone that can help me get the reflectors and help me with making my suspention softer(I dont know wat kind of suspention is on the car).If anyone can help plz pm me or contact me at 808-429-8359. thx for helping!

I did see a sweet Black STI that rolled up when i was leaving the recon station, hope you had better luck then i did.

hahah most of us don't even bother with recon. Just keep going around and try to pass safety inspection. Oh and try not to get pulled over. That always helps

I had the exact same thing happen to me. Although I did pass in my wagon with my Tein coilovers, but my headlights were modded and didn't have the reflectors also. YOu should try and see if you can rent or borrow a set of headlights, swap them out, and try again. Good luck!

Is alignment still required for just wheels?

I failed my first time b/c they said the suspension was too stiff w/ my KW coilovers. Brent suggested I adjust the damper to the softest setting (which I had done that morning of the inspection) but to drive around with it like that for awhile before going back.

I honestly don't know if that made a difference, but I did pass the 2nd time around. It was more likely due to the fact that I had a different inspector & he had different standards. The bounce test is very subjective (they just eyeballed it) & sometimes they seem to already have the intent to fail you b/c of the kind of car you drive. Before he even did the inspection on my friend's STI, one of the inspectors told him aloud, ".... that's the problem with these Subarus" (he was making reference to the stiff suspension).

So, as you'll read on the recon thread on FH it does seem to be the luck of the draw sometimes... which really sucks & explains why a lot of people choose not to waste their time with the whole process.
