Cool

IIRC, it is cheaper if you don't get recon and get tagged for it, then if you get recon and get tagged for something that you did to make your recon "fraudulent".

Lotsa times, you go through all the trouble to get recon, and after that, do something to make it not compliant and some big-headed cop will give you a fatty ticket for fradulent recon, etc...

But I guess it is worth it if you can pass and don't touch anything after that.. It seems to depend on where you drive. In Ewa side, I see tons of slammed cars with illegal mods up the a$$, no recon, etc. But in town side, it's probably way easier to get pulled over, so yeah. Cops will probably bother you a bit less with that big "R" in the back

You can do certain things to your car here and probably get away without recon it depends on the mods you have.

Back when I was into "mini-trucks" (yeah, nobody's perfect), I was once stopped on Kuhio Ave. in Waikiki...for no reason at all. The officer told me that anyone with a recon sticker can be stopped at any time for any reason. I never verified what he said, but he sure seemed to be telling the truth.

I never took another vehicle to get recon'd after that. I figure if these pig fockers are going to use recon to profile people, fock it, I'd rather take my chances.

look at it this way.. those silver plates people put in teh back, it supposed to fit 3 stickers, usually people just have 2, and 1 quare of shiny silver.. but if u get recon.. it fills it up..

and im sure it depends too visually how u dress and what not and exhaust and etc... i mean lots of scoobies are out there now, and some are eye catchers...

Recon is helpful, but only if you have a non-profiled car like my Matrix. Rarely if ever do we get pulled over.

Remember that cops can take away your recon if ur speeding or for any traffic violation. Happened to a couple of my friends... then you gotta go back and get it again. If your car isnt lowered, id say dont waste your time with it. Even if your car is only lowered 1 inch, dont get recon. Its usually not enough for them to notice. If you have a huge aftermarket exhaust, i recommend putting in a silencer so they hear your car. 9 times out of 10, they pull u over for the exhaust, tint, or the drop.

for those of you who want recon, let me know. i can get a guy to meet us all at once somewhere and he can inspect our cars. if we pass, he can give us the legit recon w/ papers right then and there. 15 bucks for recon but i say give him a lil' more for commin out to meet us..
