Help! RECON Advice
hi guys,
I recently moved to the island and my car finally got here. i tried going through the proper channels to get registered as soon as possible...until i hit a snag. I failed my safety inspection and RECON due to my suspension being too low. i currently have ver5 struts/ prodrive P1 springs/ whiteline anti-lift kit.
any suggestions on how to pass? should i look around and try to find a stock RS suspension? or spend money on coilovers?
any help is appreciated! thanks!

As far as I know for height they measure the height of the lights and fogs if you have as well as license plates. The only criteria for the body is that the lowest part can't be lower than the lowest part of your rim. And you can not deviate from stock rim size more than 1" (So running 19's to "cheat" this won't work)
I know it's ghetto but you can temporarily raise your plates somehow if it's that, if it's fogs you can use covers, if it's your headlights sorry you have no choice but to raise your car temporarily. I know the recon office is strict, but you could try around for different safety check places, I'm sure there's someone here that can offer advice on that. Did they tell you exactly what they measured to fail you?

thanks for the advice guys - aznsexrboy808, i may take you up on your offer!
i got the safety check over at Jiffy Lube. actually met an i-club member who works there, but can't remember her screenname.
if i can pass safety check at a garage, do i still have to go through recon?

RECON is a way for the state to rape the public. It's a ploy to gain funding. My suggestion, though cops don't really bother subaru guys, get the recon w/ some coil overs. My WRX is my 4 car w/ recon. It's all worth it, if you plan on keeping your car. Plus, there's no expiration date. Just make sure to follow the guidelines on passing and get your recon within 30 days of your alignment. Note that if you look for coupons, you can get an alignment for as low as $39.00, usually from Firestone. The one in Aiea does a pretty decent job, especially if you tell them what specs you want. PM me if you have any other questions.

I've been pulled over twice in sobriety checkpoints (obviously out of "turn") and bothered regarding my recon. Anybody that has seen my car knows it is RICELESS and is a big sleeper.
Luckily I had recon and everything was in order, but it was still pretty bogus.
YMMV.
