Hi, all.

I haven't logged into i-club in a LONG time. I checked my PMs and there were some regarding my, now long past, Iraq deployment. Wow. Thanks.

I didn't even realize that word of my deployment had gotten to i-club.

So I was wandering through the HIIC forum today, and I saw a sticky for some soldier in Iraq. Since I like to know where my fellow enthusiasts are serving I figured I'd check it out. Whoa! That soldier is ME. So now I guess I should give you all the rest of the story.

We deployed in Nov 2005 and returned home in Nov 2006. Our Squadron (Equivalent to a Battalion) didn't lose any soldiers. A few people were seriously injured, but everyone who deployed came back home to see their family. That's pretty amazing for forward deployed Cavalry Squadron. The support we received from people like you was amazing. I can't count the number of care packages I received with car magazines, tasty food, and coffee from people whom I really shared nothing more than an interest in cars, with.

Thanks.

I'm now playing college student in Minnesota. The Army decided that their officers should be educated and sent me back to school. I'll be here until next May.

I sold the blue wagon before I deployed and bought a status symbol when I got back. I got tired of not playing with my car in the garage, so I bought a 94 Turbo-Legacy as a project car.

Once again, thanks. It was really surprising to me to see a sticky on a forum that I haven't actively participated in for a couple of years. I guess I'll chalk it up to the Aloha Spirit.
