Kinda strange how all the documented fragging incidents that have occurred in Iraq have involved Army personnel...

Although I don't have exact numbers that amount of Soldiers coming in and out of theatre has to dwarf any other service out there based on sheer manpower alone.

Sad to hear this news. Hard to believe it's been 6 years last month.

Negative, Marines and Navy personnel have also been involved. The Air Force probably hasn't had one just because they don't often get issued weapons and less than 5% of the deployed force is Air Force personnel.

From that link I see 4 fragging incidents involving Army soldiers, and 1 incident involving a Navy sailor who killed 2 female sailors. Didn't see any Marines listed.

There have been a few. This stuff reaches the news only in the rarest of circumstances. There are a lot of deaths that are not counted in the "death toll". If you are wounded in Iraq or Afghanistan and die in Germany it's not counted. Obviously word of 5 homicides would have reached stateside eventually so they address it but otherwise its "out of sight, out of mind". Similiar to the suicide issue. Its worse than people think.

Yea suicides are way up in the army. Another big issue is sexual assault. Yay more briefings for me woo hoo. It is a travesty when things like this happen however you have to remember that there are 150k soldiers in Iraq and they have the same problem as people in a 150k pop city. We are a little better but you cant weed out all the dip****s.

Suicides are up? Wow that has to be a lot. When I was in I remember my fair share of suicide attempts, most non-successful given the fact we saved their lives or caught them as they were hanging. But I can remember three suicides in my battalion alone, including one with a 240B in the room next to mine involving the company armorer. And all of this was in garrison between 99-03. All of the suicide attempts were ones I knew about in my company at the time so who knows how many I didn't hear about in neighboring company areas.

I've always wondered where I could find statistics on Military Suicides. Anyone?

How the hell do you shoot yourself with a 240Bravo?

Not sure how he did it. Maybe long reach? I piece of 550 cord?

All I remember was that we were just about to go green light on a rare Division Hollywood Jump and all of they race-tracked the C-130s back to green ramp at Pope. We all thought we were going to war but our company armorer killed himself.
