Needless to say it is totaled. He is fine. He lives in New Mexico now. He wasn't doing anything stupid. His tire droped of onto the soft sandy shoulder and he couldn't get back on the road. He slowed down and tried to steer into it and the car flipped 3 or 4 times going 40 MPH. No airbags deployed. I sold him all of my stock STi pieces I/C, VF39, injectors, ECU, and fuel pump. It's a sad day.

The insurance company is going to tell them how much they want for it next week.

This reminds me of an incident where somebody rolled his mom's BMW.

Airbags did not deploy and he threatened to sue BMW for it. BMW, worried about the word getting out, tried to settle with the guy by giving him 2 bimmers (one for him, one for his mom) plus a few more thousands of $$$ to basically keep it on the hush.

 

The crashed STi I bought had a law suit going on about it because the front airbags didn't deploy. However there is no reason they should have since there was no front damage. For this XT the sides should have deployed for sure.
