Help

I have a 05 sti and for some reason I can't get the key in the ignition. I can unlock the doors but there seems to be a piece of metal blocking the key from going in

spray some wd-40 or pb blaster in there and work it a bit. or just break the piece of plastic blocking the key from going in.

I dunno but it worked on my 91 blazer and my 02 Saturn.

Maybe try finesse and lube first.

At least in my journeys I've learned that just plowing something hard in a hole with a blockage can lead to disaster.

Did you move the steering wheel with the key out of the ignition? Try moving the wheel side to side then insert the key.

lol.

and don't use WD or liquid lubricants! get some graphite powder from aloha key (or anywhere else, but i like those guys) and dust your key, insert/remove and repeat a few times - it'll leave powder residue on your key for a bit, but it'll slick the lock up perfectly...

^^also, that's what she said.

This belongs in this thread.

*edit*
Someone else mentioned the steering wheel lock, you may have locked the steering wheel and thus blocked the keys keyhole. Next time try wiggling the wheel while inserting the key.
