I will if I can,
not sure if it's going to happen. Chibby, how in the hell are you revving to 8500+? New heads and valvetrain?

The
springs and valves matter, but as far as I know, the pistons and cams don't determine the rev limit. I could be wrong, I've been wrong at least once (maybe twice). I'm looking to do the same thing, up my rev limit to 8500+.

Bottom end matters when it comes to LIVING a sustained life at high rpm. Cams matter when it comes to making POWER at high rpm.

Pat,
Did you get positive results with switching to OLF? Have you verified that fuel trims no longer affect post-threshold fueling since switching to OLF?
I'm happy with my car now, but I know my FT's have probably blown my fuel tuning to **** and I'd take the plunge (re: time and effort) if I could insure that it would be once and for all after switching to OLF.

There has been a lot of misinformation put out over the internet about the 2.5's reliability. Quirt has been pushing his stock 2.5 block without any problems, but then again, he knows what he's doing.

Chibby, thanks! I'm looking to scrape up some bucks to buy my own one of these days - but I'd love to take a look at yours and see what it's all about (didn't get to check out Pat's much before he left).
After that I just need to find a good, deserted, po-po free zone to get some road tuning done. THAT'S the hardest part of this whole proposition here in Hawaii!

Not sure
if I should have ordered the Jones/Tarver fight or not. Roy Jones Jr actually got beat (not disquallified). End of an era.

I don't think you'll find a better place, ... too bad the straight isn't very long ....
ON a side note, ... I know that some people had an "event" out on a runway somewhere within the last week, .... I am going to try and find out some more info on that.

That would be great, Sean!
I did a couple of hours of roadtuning tonight. It was nervewracking (watching for the popo) and I ran into a couple of morons in a black Camry that kept harrassing me yelling "**** you! Weak!" with their thumbs down out of the window.
What a joke. I wanted to remind the guy that he was riding in the back seat of a Toyota Camry!

Richard,
I'm just seeing your question.
My opinion of the OLF is that I wasn't able to substantiate one. I got it where the hesitation was minimal, but I ran out of time in making it completely go away. Apparently the WHOLE trick to it (and probably much else) is the short-term fuel trims. By design, you'd assume that the LTFT's weren't an issue any longer, but Nathan told me that they were. I don't know enough to question why, but that was my major pursuit prior to leaving. That's why I was so hopeful that last night at the track, because I had gotten them as close to perfect as I knew how. There's no reason that I know of that I should have ran as slow as I did (only 2 runs; first against Infek and the car pulled like crazy off the line and to the 1/8. I'll do a search and see if I can find my 1/8 mi trap and ET. They were really good but then the car fell on it's face. 2nd run I mis-shifted and I think I broke 6th gear, believe it or not. Never got a chance to find out.)
I saw the last of the RJJ fight this morning on Armed Forces Network. It still hasn't sunk in.

Gotcha, Pat. We'll have time to play with it when you get back! Maybe I'll have sorted my OLF tuning out by then.
re: RJJ - I still can't believe it either. End of an era. The punch heard round the world. Wow. Overhand Left!
