hey shaggy, can servco do my oil change if I supply my own oil? thinking of going either mobil 1 or royal purple.
or does servco only deal with whatever they use at services?

My car was purchased at Waipahu Subaru back in 2003, at my first oil change, I was given the option of either Mobil1 or Royal Purple. Hopefully Servco has similar options.

not all of this is true and has just to do with oil? we don't need to get super tech. here but lots more fall into this then just oil. also the grade of oil plays a role too. if you damaged your cylinders then tried to switch to a good oil and then say that caused it don't count.
me= turbo'd 2.5 n/a motor 75k miles of boost, oil change every 3k miles with 5w30 Mobil 1 full syn. GF4 rated. compression on my car is 160 on all 4 cylinders.
anyone who know about turbo'd sohc 2.5 subaru's knows my car should of bite the dust a while ago. so i'm happy and if it blows up tomorrow i can deal with it since it's been boosted past it's efficiency. all on the same type of oil. always changed at 3k miles.

That's like saying my condoms don't break because I spit on it before insertion rather than use lube.
you can say though a maintained vehicle is in much better shape than a non maintained one...
If you really want to go by just the oil...you could do it the amsoil way and change oil once a year....then that would definitely be all oil...

meme mei oil change blah blah blah. Just got through with dropping the Autotranny oil pan and resealing it, atf refill (yes Francis, it was like there was another Exxon Valdez incident....not as big though. Just the amount that was left in the pan when I popped it off), straitened out a rear diff member support stay bracket, and raised the rear alittle to see if it would get rid of that damned "hooo" sound. Btw sti intercoolers suck when it comes to filling and checking the atf.

WTF are you talking bout guy? u wanna pay for his warranty if something goes wrong when he didn't change his oil for 7K miles????
In the owners manual it CLEARLY states first oil change at 3k miles. also if you go to the oil section it also CLEARLY states that if you do alot of stop and go driving(hawaii falls into this) or have severe weather changes to do oil changes more frequently then suggested in the back of the warranty booklet. If you don't believe me please own yourself and read your owners manual.

I wouldn't go more then 5k intervals after your first oil change. but with turbo cars i would be a little more touchy when it comes to oil changes and go every 3k miles.
and it's always better to change more then to change less.
so if you wanna change it now you should be fine. Plus your taking out all the oil and debris that happened while your car was being broken in. (this is me and what i would, not the opinion of anyone else)
