Can't she just accept that you like to mod your car? An expensive mod and an expensive purse are pretty much both going to be impracticle purchases anyways...the difference is that your AP will resell for more than her used purse.

Does she work and get paid what you do? Perhaps setting up a family budget saying this is how much "Fun Money" you get to use per month? "Fun Money" for my wife and I means that it's your money to spend on whatever the hell you want NO QUESTIONS ASKED. It's worked out great for us!

^^^I got this idea from my Financial Advisor and you know it just made a lot of sense...why fight about the stuff you buy that's supposed to be fun (i.e. not an investment like homes and stuff)?! Just set aside money for each person to use for whatever their heart desires and no complaints from the other.

My wife uses her "Fun Money" for stuff like Yarn (she knits a lot), fleece and whatevers. Do I think those things are worth it? Nope...but it's her "Fun Money" she can buy $80 worth of butt fuzz and I wouldn't care.

she's accepted that i mod...and she used to work till she got pregnant and i've stopped modding (for the most part) since then, but i think for the most part it's just hormones in her. I still gotta stick up for her. I see where everyone is coming from and i see where she's coming from, but life is life. And sometimes you sacrafice for your loved one. i have many times. but more now i think she just wants some assurance that i wanna grow up (and i've already prepared to step up) b4 the baby is born and i think in her eyes she see's it as me just wanting to spend money on my toys.

Well if I save my "Fun Money" for a while then yes...but I'm not buying any high-dollar mods for my car other than wheels+tires. I mostly buy used (see my trader thingie) and end up paying half of what the mods are worth. I'm very chinese.
