New to the Subie scene
Hello,
I just bought my first Japanese car this February. I have to admit that it was hard purchasing a Subaru after owning a 1999 VW Passat 1.8t auto since 2001. I have been an avid enthusiast of the 1.8t engine and VAG scene in general. Over the past few monthe of ownership of a 2008 Impreza 2.5i, I have come to love the grip of the AWD and now seeing the potential of the chassis through reviews of the STi. This Subaru has inspired me to get into autocrossing. I am looking for any information about suspensions for the 2008 Imppreza 2.5 5 door to help me on the track and competitive

Hey, welcome aboard! I too was into the Dub scene for a long time, but after living with a guy with a stage 2 WRX and another guy with a 20th AE, it was a pretty easy decision which direction to go.
I would suggest cruising around here for a little while, reading and absorbing as much as you possibly can. The beauty of having a forum as big as this one is that most of the answers can be found through simple searches. It will take a bit longer, but you can expect better results from more sources, as opposed to 'hey get Tein S-techs, they are dope and all the girls love my car now!'
I'll go ahead and say that a wider/stickier wheel and tire combo is a great start, then maybe pursue swaybars and endlinks, then look into further suspension mods. I'm saying this as someone who posted something nearly identical to yours, with lackluster results.
Your results may vary, but that search button up top can be your best friend.
Good luck, good purchase, welcome to the club!
