Citation for expired safety check on a new car

Just my luck.

I get a citation for an expired safety check. Ticket said expires 03/08. hmm pretty good since my car is pretty new like 4 weeks old from the dealership.

It should be hopefully taken care of by the policeman in error. after running back and forth to the chinatown substation to first figure out what the ticket really meant, then bringing in the safety check papers, having them verify my license plate in their database and then walking the officer back to my car to show him that the sticker is indeed green and says 2011 on it. he said he will take care of it.

Haha, then send them the bill for your gas and time spent fixing their mistake. Hmmmm, that guy is supposed to be protecting and serving, but can't even read a safety check??? Whew, I feel much safer now.

what is even bad is that the rookie said he even checked my plates for the safety inspection with their computer. when the sargent did it (after getting a long lecture about how dealers will sell me a car with an expired safety. this is still after i told him all new cars have two years for safety he kept saying they sit on the lot) he said my car is good in their database.

think he was just practicing to write the ticket.
I was in the academcy and they encouraged us to write as many tikets as possible.
I don't think he had it out for you.

Nice.....so he couldn't read or hear the right answer when he called it in. This story gets better every minute.

They see me rollin', they hatin'........

J/P.- The dealership should take care of anything that happens, should the safety be expired. Don't worry.

realistic a dealer ain't s'pose to sell you a car with an expried saftey period. cause were s'pose to transfer the reg into your name and if the safety is no good then you cannot transfer it.
