hopefully it was just a fluke? ive only had 2 cels in the 2 years i owned the car. first one was last year, o2 sensor.....i replaced it and cel went away...drove several hundred miles and it didnt reappear so i figured that was taken care of....the last cel was immediately after changing the o2 sensor. the coilpack on cylinder 3 accidentally got knocked out when changing the o2 sensor causing misfire in cylinder 3. the clips on that particular coilpack broke when we pulled the motor a year before and i did not want to spend hundreds on a new coilpack when the coilpack was fine (just clips broken). zip tied them back in and cel immediately went away. is the car is running ok? when it was misfiring, it was running like crap (of course) since it was only running on 3 cylinders....

It's all good now, the only problem I run into is the motor will bog a bit when the throttle is wide open since she is running rich. Other than that, it's all good. No wiper fluid is a nuisance though! haha

Ignore most advice on this or any forum.
If your CEL is on, there is a reason or there was a problem at some point. The light doesn't just come on.
Use a REAL OBDII scanner to read the code.
It may be a TGV related code that the access port will not pick up....just my guess.

I have seen tgv codes in 2 different cars that would not read with the access port.
The tgv bodies have little electric motors on one side and position sensors on the other. These are mechanical parts that WILL eventually wear out. This is normal and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

I'll answer this one. The car can run perfectly fine till you hit the higher RPMS. I have seen 2 I-Club guys here have this issue. the car will start to break up (ignition cut) closer to the 5k rpm range. & chad is right the AP can miss this code. I prefer not to us an AP as my code reader. It's good for the minor stuff but not the best to trouble shoot problems

A flap can be stuck open and it would be difficult to notice an issue driving. (simply would run less effecient on one bank at low RPM) It could be an intermitent problem and a flap sometimes doesnt operate in a timely fashion. It could be operating properly and the sensor isnt picking up full rotation. There is an entire world of posibilities with the TGV steppers and sensors alone.
Tgv codes however, are the only reason that I have ever seen the CEL come on and not be readable by the access port.
This is not in any way your fault or responsibility Brett. Electromechanical parts eventually fail. Period.
