Is there a light flywheel for a 2001 RS that WON'T cause CEL?

Is there a light flywheel for a 2001 RS that WON'T cause CEL?

Subject says it all. I have an Exedy lw flywheel and get recurring misfire CELs since it was installed. I will be gathering parts when I can afford them to replace my new clutch and flywheel (behaving worse than the stock worn clutch and fly they replaced) and I would like to go with a lw flywheel, but it's not worth it if these problems will continue.

TIA.

I've heard it's a obvious weight issue, something like 15lbs or more will not cause a cel. I'm not 100% positive but there is a Japanese company called ATS and they sell lightweight flywheels that are 20, 15, 10, and 8lbs. Call Dentsport at 781-551-3399. They can help with you flywheel problems.

Yup - that's what I have found too, since the weight isn't there it results in a bumpy idle which the ECU incorrectly reads as misfires. Too bad there isn't an ECU reflash or anything that will allow this car to work with this flywheel. I am also irritated that I asked everyone I could if this would happen, everyone said no, and now it's a "known issue" or something. Urf.

So I guess the ACT Streetlite would also cause CELs? I thought it was above 14lbs which may be close enough. I dunno. Ugh.

....if you have a lightweight/underdrive pully(ies) this is additive to the CEL issue with light flywheels

Stock pullies. Total mods (that could affect the engine):

Ganzflow CAI
Borla Header (Swain Thermal Barrier Coated, resistor fix)
ScoobySport axleback
Exedy LW flywheel (13.9lbs)
Exedy sport clutch

That's it. Entire ignition system is new, 60k maintenance performed in full and the car has 64k miles. It's always fed Hawaii 92 or 89 octane fuel.
