Ever since I installed my Tomei catback, I've been experiencing a little bit louder pops when shifting pretty hard. I figured it was normal due to the louder 3" exhaust.

But recently, I've been hearing a rattling noise every now and then. It's not constant, more like when I go from a stop and get off the gas and cruise in gear for a few seconds. I still haven't been able to check it out, but could I have cracked my cat? (Stock downpipe). Is that even possible for a 2013 with 25K on it?

I did about an 85% pull from 1st to 3rd, and someone I know that was by me said they heard me pop about almost as loud as if I was catless. I'm not pulling any CEL codes or anything, but I do smell a little rich here and then.

I've searched on here and I can't find anything about cracking a cat. And I know it may be hard to diagnose over the computer, but can someone at least tell me if there is a way to check if it's cracked? Without taking off the downpipe itself and shaking it.. lol. I'll be most likely looking at my car tomorrow to actually look for the problem.

No blow off valve. Only performance mods are Cobb Intake and Tomei Catback, and Torqued Perfomance tune.

 

Probably just a loose heatshield.
