STi Catalytic converter quesitons?

how many cats are in the exhaust system?

are there 2? is there one in the uppipe?

one in the downpipe(precat)/ and one in the muffler (maincat)?

and if you take all of them out and replace with a nice exhaust set-up , how much performance gains do you get?

also do you need a boost controller for these mods?

Oops thats the WRX. The STi has *to precat(before the turbo)

wait, so the STi just has 2 cats then? one in the precat and on near the midpipe?

so get a down pipe and mid-pipe,(to gut both cats) and maybe a 3" exhaust and you should be cookin up some good HP gains?

if so, sounds like the next reasonable move
