Catalytic converter on GC8

Does anyone know if the stock 98 RS cat is the same as the 01 RS? If I put a 98 cat onto an 01 RS, will it pass the CA smog test? Please, if anyone can answer my question, thanks alotttttttttttttt!

well it should fit but to say it will perform the same dont know for sure but should pass

even if it would you cant legally use a used cat but from what i hear about CA most places will pass it if it passes the tail pipe test

It should pass and fit. Just hope the cat is a good one when you put it on. I dont think that you should have any problem getting the test done.

SMOG

thanks guys,

I had put the stock exhaust back on and clear the codes... now the car has passed the SMOG. Too bad I had to sell the car; it was such a nice memory for me
