The threads that you'll come up with will tell you the p/n's and approximate cost. you'll need to buy o rings and refrigerant. you will also have to have your ac system evacuated which can be expensive

hmmm...sounds like Jon nailed it. I'd say a small leak in your system. Those were my symptoms when i had a/c woes. Worked good every start up...but then, no good. could be that the expansion valve is stuck, which means it needs replaced. As for the core...it's best to change it along with the valve. Good Luck!!!

most likely a leak like others say...
be sure your electric fan comes on when you turn on the a/c. you can also visually inspect your a/c system. normally if theres a leak a/c oil that leaks out likes to collect dust and dirt.

Bump for this thread, I am having problems with my AC I think.
  • AC blows Cold all the time.
  • When I turn on and off, I hear a hissing noise from outside.
  • Inside the car, I can hear the AC hissing sometimes from the vents.

Anyone knows a good place in town to check on the AC systems? dunno if Vakamon does this kind of diagnostic and repair?

i havent worked on my suby a/c system yet...but a lot of older model cars/trucks used to have vacuum actuators that would control the blend doors on the evaps...be sure defrost, floor, vent all work properly as well as the recirc. door...

now the newer cars now have actuator motors that control the positioning of the doors.

it sure does sound like a vacuum leak if anything...

Thanks for tips, I checked with a neighbor mechanic, and by hearing from the noise, he mentioned that it could be the AC compressor Clutch making that noise. He also said to take it in to check for any leak as well.

Well, anyone recommend a good shop in town to repair AC or does vakamon fix this kind of problem?
