I'm thinking of buying a car in miami florida. Seller prefers a Cashier's Check (certified from US bank) or money order. I prefer doing it through escrow service, due to the amount money envolved. I called him today and he understands my situation but still prefers it his way. Is there any other way of doing money transaction without being fraud?

Don't do it. Its a lot of money, and if it is fraud, it will be the biggest headache ever. Anytime someone says they only accept money in money order or cashier's check - red lights should be going off.

Find someone else. There are a ton of cars out there, with great deals. Just keep looking. Remember, its your money.

he may be legit but still, i would be kinda fishy...tell him that you really would like to purchase his car but for fradulant(sp?) reasons you just cant... what is his reason for wanting only cashiers check?

i got scammed out of six hundred bucks by sending a money order for an ebay purchase. i would not do it. like porter said theres lots of cars out there.

 

i got scammed out only $40 by an i-clubber via ebay; but lesson learned. i only deal with escrow or local pickups now.
